The story of Lumber Boys began in 1948, when Bernard Garbus opened Gotham Lumber at their original location at Second Avenue & 38th Street in Manhattan. Working as a family-owned business for three-generations, Lumber Boys is proud of its history and constantly improving. They are always adapting and striving to meet their customers' needs. They work diligently to buy and sell well-made, quality products at fair prices, and give the best advice and customer service you can find anywhere in New York City.


Lumber Boys offer a full line of construction materials, along with delivery and cutting service. They provide reliable assistance and help to building professionals, homeowners, apartment dwellers, and to all of their neighbors in Murray Hill.

For any order within Manhattan over one hundred dollars sidewalk delivery is free. They also deliver on schedule across the five boroughs in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, or anywhere else!

Wood cutting service at Lumber Boys is hassle-free and budget friendly. They make cuts on material in dimensions exactly as you specify. For straight cuts only 1$ each!


Lumber Boys carry a selection of hardware that includes plumbing, electrical, paint and sundries, janitorial and cleaning supplies.


Numerous types and sizes of doors are available: hollow, solid, louvered, flat panels, raised panels, mirror glass inserts, clear, frosted, and decorative glass.

Base Molding, Crown Moulding, Chair Rail, Window and Door Casings are carried in stock in various designs and widths available in lengths cut to size 8' to 16' long in Pine, Solid Oak, Poplar and MDF.
