Celebrating Elizabeth Goldstein’s Legacy: A Tribute to Her Leadership at the Municipal Art Society
Elizabeth Goldstein
Municipal Art Society
488 Madison Avenue
New York, NY. 10019
Dear Ms. Goldstein,
The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association and its Preservation & Design Committee are sorry to learn of your upcoming retirement after leading the Municipal Art Society for eight years. We are very appreciative of all that you have accomplished during your tenure.
MAS is vitally important to preservation in our city, and we have had a longstanding and excellent partnership throughout the years. President Emeritus Kent Barwick attended many of our key events, including the celebration of Murray Hill’s Historic District Designation in 2002. With the upcoming 60th Anniversary of the Landmarks Law in 2025, we are gratefully reminded that MAS spearheaded the SAVE GRAND CENTRAL fight to the Supreme Court.
In more recent years, our Murray Hill Walking Tour Guides have participated with gusto in the very popular Jane’s Walk NYC Festival.
We thank you for your leadership and all that you have done for our great city, and look forward to a continued close collaboration and supporting the new President. And most of all we wish you a happy retirement!
Most Sincerely,
– Murray Hill Neighborhood Association, Susan Demmet, Chair Preservation & Design Committee and Elaine Silber, Co-Chair Preservation & Design Committee
