Centre d’Art Rigaud-Monin 2026 Artist’s Residency in France
Centre d’Art Rigaud-Monin 2026 Artist’s Residency in France
Saint Seine L’Abbaye, France
July to August

The Centre d’Art Rigaud-Monin (CARM) is a non-profit art association founded in 2023 with the goal of furthering cultural exchange between the United States and France. It is located in the historic rural town of Saint-Seine-l’Abbaye, near the city of Dijon. The center will welcome one resident artist in the summer of 2026 and provide for him/her an apartment and a studio space. At the conclusion of the residency, a solo show for the artist will be held at the Center. The artist will also have the opportunity to connect with the renowned Beaux Arts School in Dijon.
The town takes its name from the Abbey of Saint-Seine which stands at its center. Built in 1225, this former monastery was studied by Viollet-le-Duc who presented it as an exemplar of French gothic architecture. The CARM Center is located opposite the Abbey and comprises an exhibition and studio space, gardens and a fully furnished private apartment for use by the resident artist. The cost of the residency is 1800 USD which covers the cost of accomodation
for the two month period spanning July to August. A shorter stay is negotiable.
The residency provides the opportunity for a young or established artist to work within the unique and ideal environment of Saint-Seine-l’Abbaye with the guarantee of a show at the end.
