Dag Hammarskjold Greenmarket

The Dag Hammarskjӧld Greenmarket, is a year-round, weekly farmers market in our neighborhood! It is one of the over 45 Greenmarket locations in New York City featuring fresh local foods – fruits and vegetables, seafood, eggs, meat, dairy, honey, breads, baked goods, and more – grown, raised, caught and baked within ~200 miles of New York City. 

We think locally-grown food is the best food there is:

• It’s the freshest, most delicious food available. Greenmarket produce is ripened in the sun and typically picked less than 24 hours before market – it hasn’t been sitting on a truck or a shelf for weeks.
• Fresh means it’s the most nutritious food your family can eat.
• Local food is food you can trust – farmers are present at the market to answer your questions about how they produce the food they sell.
• Markets are welcome community spaces for everyone.

All Greenmarkets accept SNAP/EBT, Summer EBT, Healthfirst OTC (select plans), and WIC & Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program checks. When customers spend $2 in SNAP/Summer EBT, they receive a bonus $2 Health Buck, up to $10 per day, to purchase additional fruits and vegetables!
