Dedicated Quality of Life Team Debuts at NYPD’s 17th Precinct

The Murray Hill Neighborhood Association (MHNA) is pleased to announce the establishment of a dedicated Quality of Life Team at the NYPD’s 17th Precinct. This new initiative is designed to strengthen community engagement and address local concerns that directly impact the daily lives of residents, businesses, and visitors in Murray Hill.

The Quality of Life Team is led by Sergeant Amanda Coughlin and includes approximately ten dedicated officers. The team will focus on issues such as noise complaints, sanitation, illegal vending, traffic safety, and other neighborhood concerns that affect the well-being of the community. By providing a specialized group of officers, the 17th Precinct is demonstrating its commitment to proactive problem-solving and building stronger relationships with the community.

On the community side, the MHNA’s Quality of Life Committee is chaired by Jessica Lavoie, Vice President of MHNA, who will work closely with Sergeant Coughlin and her team to ensure that resident concerns are addressed and neighborhood priorities are advanced including our Adopt-a-Block initiative.

Residents are encouraged to connect with the Quality of Life Team through the Murray Hill Neighborhood Association and directly with the 17th Precinct. MHNA will also share regular updates and resources to keep the community informed of the team’s work and progress.
