Han Chen has emerged among the new generation of concert pianists as a uniquely fearless performer in a wide variety of musical settings. His program includes the world premier of the piece A Book of Time I which has the audience listen to how the earth’s minerals sing. Composed by Lei Liang using X-ray fluorescence analysis of minerals to trace their elemental peaks, the data points were transformed through software into musical harmonies.
