Pershing Square Plaza East Reconstruction Project (HWPLZ015M)

In December 2021, the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC) began the reconstruction of Pershing Square East Plaza. The DDC is managing the reconstruction of a permanent plaza along the eastern portion of Park Avenue between East 41st and East 42nd Street. The project includes work on segments of the intersections of Park Avenue and East 41st Street and Park Avenue and East 42nd Street, on behalf of the New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT).

On this project, the city contractor will fully reconstruct the Pershing Square East Plaza and improve the underlying infrastructure. This project entails streetscaping, storm sewer installation, a segment of water main replacement, utility upgrades, street lighting, traffic signal work, and security elements. The anticipated completion date for this project is October 2023.

Below are links to the work schedules. However, due to unforeseen field and weather conditions, it may become necessary to change some scheduled work locations, operations, and dates. Please note, parking may be restricted in the work area(s).
