Little Mozart Foundation: More Than A Concert
Among the many activities that brought families together at the Kids Corner during Park Avenue Day in May was a lively performance by Little Mozart Foundation.
As children danced and sang along, neighbors and passersby stopped to enjoy the music. What began as a concert for children soon became a shared experience, with people of all ages dancing, laughing, and enjoying the moment together.
Little Mozart Foundation believes every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of live music. Building on the success of Mozart for Munchkins, the Foundation brings professional musicians into schools, libraries, shelters, and community spaces across New York City, creating interactive performances that encourage children to listen, move, participate, and discover a love of music.
Each year, the organization reaches more than 1,500 children and families through more than 100 free and subsidized programs across New York City. Many of these programs focus on expanding access to high-quality arts experiences in communities where opportunities may be limited.
Murray Hill families had the opportunity to experience the same joyful, interactive style of performance that Little Mozart Foundation brings to children across New York City.
Although the concert was created with children in mind, it was something everyone could enjoy. Many of us, young and old, left with memories of the music, the laughter, the dancing, and the connections made that afternoon. We’re so grateful to Little Mozart Foundation for helping create one of those special moments that remind us what community is all about.
