Midtown Cultural Alliance Launch

Inaugurating from September 12-21, 2025, the Midtown Cultural Alliance (MCA) is a presenters’ union founded by Scandinavia House, Japan Society, The Korea Society, Korean Cultural Center, and L’Alliance New York to highlight midtown NYC as a global cultural destination!

In this new collaboration, our five cultural centers—located mere blocks from one another in Midtown East—are aiming to redefine our locality as a signature destination neighborhood, serving up the best traditional and contemporary art, music, film, and performance from around the world, right here in Midtown.

Over a special fortnight launch, a range of free and paid programming will be spread across all five partner organizations. At any of these events, visitors can receive a special “passport” and collect a stamp. Upon collecting stamps from at least three locations, visitors can redeem a free gift from three different organizations of their choice. Attendees to any of our events today through September 21 are eligible for a passport or stamp.

Events at Scandinavia House over the launch include this weekend’s Textile Takeover (today and tomorrow); the art talk “Hilma af Klint’s Botanical World” on Tuesday, September 16; the screening Homecoming on September 17; and the panel “Writing the World from Copenhagen to NYC” on September 19. Programs at partner organizations encompass exhibitions, films, concerts, lectures performing arts and more. See Full Calendar of Events.
