Murray Hill and Turtle Bay Celebrate Community with a Baseball Night at Yankee Stadium
On the evening of May 7th, the Murray Hill and Turtle Bay neighborhood associations came together for an unforgettable Baseball Night Out at Yankee Stadium, where the New York Yankees faced off against the San Diego Padres. A total of 49 community members signed up for the event, and together we took over our own section in the stands—cheering, connecting, and celebrating the spirit of our neighborhoods.

The night was filled with energy and excitement—not only did the Yankees deliver a thrilling game, but the New York Knicks also secured a victory in their playoff run, making it a double win for New York fans.

Our group’s presence was even recognized on the stadium’s giant screen, where a special shout-out was displayed for both the Murray Hill and Turtle Bay neighborhoods. It was a moment of pride and visibility for our community, celebrated in one of the city’s most iconic venues.

We all met at Grand Central, representing the historic heart of our neighborhood, and traveled to the stadium together—emphasizing unity, tradition, and a shared love for the city. After the game, we made our way back together as a group, continuing conversations and deepening connections formed over peanuts and cracker jacks.

Baseball has deep roots in our part of Manhattan—dating back to when the sport was taking shape and city neighborhoods like ours were buzzing with the energy of a growing America. Events like these remind us that community is about showing up for one another, sharing experiences, and building memories that last far beyond nine innings.

What a great evening! So glad both organizations got a chance to meet up, even if it was in a different borough!
