NYC Lien sales are resuming

REMINDER: The NY City’s Dept. of Finance is holding a lien sale on May 20. Owners of one-, two-, and three-family homes, co-ops, and condominiums may be subject to a lien sale if they owe $5,000 or more in property taxes, delinquent water and sewer charges, Alternative Enforcement Program charges, or Emergency Repair Program charges. Property owners must act by 5/19 to avoid being included in the sale. For those who cannot afford to pay what they owe, they offer payment agreements, property tax exemptions, and several new programs designed to assist vulnerable homeowners, including the new Easy Exit option that allows eligible owners more time to resolve their debts. View properties that are listed for sale at the link; if you need help, visit nyc.gov/liensale, email taxlien@finance.nyc.gov, call 311 or (212) 440-5408.
