Security Reminder Mailbox 36th street Corner – DO NOT USE IT!

We are writing to provide an update regarding the ongoing security concern involving the public mailbox located at the northeast corner of 36th Street and Lexington Avenue.
As previously reported, there have been repeated incidents of mail theft targeting this mailbox, specifically involving checks and other sensitive correspondence. Unfortunately, this activity is still occurring.
We have obtained video footage of individuals suspected of committing these thefts and, along with a detailed timeline of incidents, this information has been turned over to law enforcement for investigation. The police have been notified and are actively reviewing the matter.
In the meantime, we strongly advise all residents to avoid using the 36th Street and Lexington Avenue mailbox, especially for mailing checks, financial documents, or any items of value.
For safer alternatives, please use the U.S. Post Office on 34th Street just west of Lexington Avenue, which provides secure and controlled mail collection and processing.
