Street safety advocates call for stricter e-bike regulations: Priscilla’s Law Rally at City Hall this week

Priscilla’s Law is a bill that would require all e-bikes and e-scooters to be registered with the city’s Department of Transportation and carry highly visible license plates. The City Council bill, which is known as Priscilla’s Law, is named after Priscilla Loke, a 69 year old preschool teacher, who was killed by an e-bike rider in Chinatown in 2023. The electric Citibike rider who fatally struck her was only given a ticket for running a red light.
