The Black Sheep is back and better than before! 💪🐑🍺
As of August 2024, The Black Sheep, not to be confused with the 1996 film, had been at its 583 3rd Ave location for 26 years. The bar’s official goodbye party was on Friday, August 23, 2024. At first thought this might sound sad, but on the contrary it was simply moving a few doors down since their building was slated for demolition. Luckily, it did not close permanently like some of their other long term neighbor establishments as seen in the Time Out article below including Benjamin Restaurant, Blue Smoke, Cinema Cafe, Burritoville, El Rio Grande, Hendriks, Jazz at Kitano, The Jazz Standard, Joshua Tree, Mercury Bar, etc.
The move took several months and they re-opened February 2025. The new location features a new modern look, a much larger wrap-around bar and other new features.
