The Department of State has implemented a new version of the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) for U.S. citizens traveling internationally. Signing up for STEP allows you to subscribe to email alerts and updates from the nearest U.S. embassyws and makes it easier to contact you if there’s an emergency. Sign up at Step.state.gov

The Department of State has launched Online Passport Renewal 2.0 (OPR 2.0) which is now available 24/7 for eligible adults wishing to renew their passports online instead of mailing in the renewal form DS-82. Applicants may access OPR 2.0 to submit their renewal at: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/have-passport/renew-online.html

The OPR 2.0 system allows Americans to conveniently apply from home or from their phone without having to get a professional picture, or submit paper applications, passports, or checks by mail.
