UN General Assembly: What Murray Hill Residents Need to Know

UN General Assembly Traffic Alert

The busiest week of the United Nations General Assembly is coming up Monday, September 21 through Friday, September 25.

Because Murray Hill is so close to the UN, our neighborhood can be especially affected. Expect heavy traffic, street closures, motorcades, bus delays, and extra security throughout the week.

The biggest impacts are expected on the East Side, especially near the UN. Streets between 34th and 60th Streets, from First to Third Avenues, may be affected, along with 34th Street, 42nd Street, and parts of the FDR Drive.

Other nearby streets may also be closed or difficult to access at times, especially as motorcades travel through the area. Some closures may happen with little notice.

NYC DOT recommends avoiding driving if possible and allowing extra time to get around.
