You’re Invited! NYPD 17th Precinct’s National Night Out 2026 on Tuesday, August 4th at 5:30pm

The 17th Precinct Community Council will host its annual National Night Out Against Crime on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza, on 47th Street between First and Second Avenues.

National Night Out is a nationwide event held each summer to strengthen the relationship between police officers and the neighborhoods they serve. The 17th Precinct covers Murray Hill along with Turtle Bay, Sutton Place, and the surrounding East Side, and the evening gives residents a chance to meet the officers who patrol the area outside of any emergency or enforcement context.

Officers will grill burgers and hot dogs for attendees. The Creswell Club will perform live music. Carnival games will be set up for children, and police vehicles will be on hand for photo opportunities. Local community organizations will staff information tables throughout the plaza.

The event is free and open to everyone. No registration is required.
